Gods

The cry of mighty gods of ancient time
Echoed in thunders of spinning cloud
Sea turned her face to color of lime
To recant them in whisper or loud
* * *
Golden days are passed and forgotten
Man is civilized, no needs for Gods
Time and Gods are wind and cotton
Said Hera, the queen of mighty Gods
* * *
Morning breeze in her passage over green lands
Whispered Hera’s sorrow to three little boys
“Oh, but we are not man”, raising their hands
“We need them. They are our toys”.

ALF

At my feet, lies down my dog
Dreaming of petting, loving and hug
Half closed eyes, relaxed, dreamy and silence
Head between paws, waiting, watching with sense
* * *
His name is Alf, after alien life force
A gift of heaven on galactic course
Happy boy with spring in his legs
Never yields to any chain or pegs
* * *
Always happy and running, seams crazy
Hates to be called stupid, bad boy or lazy
He is my Alf, true friend and daddy’s boy
My companion and source of happiness and joy

Cry of the Meadow

I hear the wind
The cry of longing meadow
Parched, breathless land of summer hit
Whispering, mumbling wind
Passing through trees
Flying over grass
Of my neighbors
With trimmed edge
Like a British school boy
As I’ve seen on TV
Every Saturday night
On British comedy shows
For twenty and some years
I, the resident of North Texas
An educated man of fifty
With anger of war
And sadness of children
Of lesser God
I hear the wings of the wind
Flying over my house
In this North Texas city
Of breathless summer hit

Residence

I reside at the edge of rainbow
Where man and grass become one
O’ God of all colors
Come and dine with me
I shall cook for you
From the forbidden tree
You have been away for too long
You have gone away too far
* * *
My home is at the end of rainbow
Where heaven and earth converge
O’ God of all colors
Come and dine with me
On my table I have
Bread and wine
Flesh and blood
One for heaven
One for earth
* * *
I reside at the edge of the world
Where thirst of earth dwells with man
Hunger of heaven dwells with God
O’ God of all colors
Dine with me from tree of life
To become one of me.

First Love

Before I could walk
I fell in love at first sight
My sweetheart was a pony
Made of cotton, cloth with five inch height
* * *
I chewed and bit her all day
She was my friend and pacifier
The birth, death and eternity
The notch of life for ever
* * *
I fell in love again years later
At the onset of my teenage life
My sweetheart was our neighbor’s girl
An eighteen year old soon to become wife
* * *
I watched her on the way to school
I worshiped her from behind the door
She did not know me and my affection
She never noticed me and my amour
* * *
I was in college when lightening hit
From behind math book of hard cover
Two eyes of shining star in night
To rob my heart and mind over and over
* * *
Her hair was softer than velvet
Her skin was smoother than morning breeze
Her affection was the land of dreams
Her walk was grace and ease
* * *
She threw me in sea of insanity
I cried loud from joy
She dragged me to depth of ecstasy and agony
I whispered “Bless you my love, destroy”

Pain and Fear

I feel the pain of day
Swallowed by darkness
As I feel the fear of mouse
Swallowed by snake
I feel the pain of night
Swallowed by day
As I feel the fear of innocence
Swallowed by harshness of life
