Casualty

When I was tree
I had a home
Standing over the land
Sheltering children and travellers
In summer heat, winter cold
Forgiven for my nightly sobering tears
And daily laughs

When blood flew
Through trenches of war-torn land
Bread, then was sacred commodity
Water, scarce
Life cheap

Napalm and cluster bombs
Came down from the clouds
To take my branches
To uproot my children

Floating in air as dust
Here I am,
Part of you, nomad, lifeless
To go through life with
Nothing on horizon
A particle of life
A casualty of madness

Silence

When “silence” becomes the way of life
Evil will raise flag of victory
Above every square
To celebrate the “trade of life for a penny

In the womb of “day”
No “light” is left
To make rainbow from morning dew

Cold

I burried "WORDS" in winter
To harvest in spring
Not knowing COLD spreads
Sickle cuts grass
Silence captures the heart
Smile migrates
Skylark will not return
